Many of us are afraid of change and maybe of the word itself, so, I hit the thesaurus aiming to find alternatives for it and happily I found an army of substitutes, such as: evolve, tweak, undergo, refine, improve, become different, vary etc etc... unsurprisingly, all of the same core.
What brought me to this, is that I have heavily engrossed myself with architectural studies and what is related to it (students, architects, forums, iPhone apps, documentaries, periodicals, podcasts, you name it...) but at some point of every week (weekend ha!) I come to realisation of how I unintentionally dwell into a routine leading me to think of how I can update for a better result.

Speaking of change, I went out of my Sunday plan and visited Manchester Art Gallery, based in the city centre, to view the recent exhibitions but instead I ran into a highlight guided tour with 2 lovely British ladies that shared with me the tales of selected displayed art pieces for a whole hour. Coming from a background that appreciates art, my mind melted and delicately reacted towards what is displayed as the ladies were explaining.

Being in MCR Art Gallery for several times, I have realised the change that went into the gallery. The assortments, I have noticed, have evolved. By that I mean, the allocation of the modern recent artwork has been mixed with the old Renaissance/ Victorian/ Baroque artwork... When I asked one of the ladies about this development, one of them answered that this change has come 3 years ago with the new gallery director. The juxtaposition is fascinating as you perceive the old and the new at the same time, appreciating both while having them in context in one zone under one theme at one instance.
I am in approval and in appreciation of the combination. Accompanied images show a glimpse of what I saw that afternoon but I am uncertain if I like this particular temporary exhibition juxtaposition at certain phases such as above counterpoint :o like I got a headache, not really, but it felt and looked horrible there.

In close, we all appreciate change (I hope) and ultimately in search for a better version of ourselves, our habitat, and our circumference (I hope) so make sure, once in a while, you break the routine you have set for yourself whether it is in your work or cycling route or music taste and embark on a refined one for
a better mind, body and soul perhaps.
Wishing you all a revamped week.
With love,
